Two Policemen, A Civil Defense Staff And One Civilian Arrested For Alleged Kidnapping Of An Islamic Cleric
The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested two of its men and also a civil defense staff as well as one civilian for allegedly kidnaping one Ustaz Ahmed Muhammed who was formerly known as Akarami in Hadejia local government area of Jigawa state.
Universalreporters247.com gathered that the suspect demanded a ransom of N15 million as compensation from the family of Malam Ahmed before they released the Kidnapped cleric.
As gathered the Islamic cleric was kidnapped last Sunday night when contacted the Police Public Relation Officer in Jigawa State SP Audu Jinjiri over the issue, he confirmed that it is true and that the command has arrested four persons in connection with kidnapping and of the four persons, two are policemen, one civilian and a staff of the Civil Defense.
According to him he said, they held the Islamic cleric, he also hinted that they got the complaint from one Umar In Hadejia town that the Ustaz collected his money in order to make fake money for him but refused to do it for him.
The Police PRO Jinjiri, said they took the man to an unknown destination and held him there as they forced him to make money for them which is a criminal offense, adding that all of them have been arrested and that they in police custody now, an investigation into the matter is on as they will be charged to court soon after investigation is concluded.
When contacted the PRO of the civil defense the command in the State, Malam Adamu Shehu confirmed the story but lamented that since they received the news of the arrest of their staff by the Nigerian police but that nobody has sent any signal from the police that their staff was arrested.
But he, however, assured that they will investigate and find out the truth of the matter after the police report is out and that an action will be taken against their staff who is found to have committed such offense.
