The Plateau State House of Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Jos, Division between Hon .Nanbol Josiah Gommam of the All Progressive Congress (APC) challenging the eligibility of the victory of Hon.Nannim Joseph Langyi of the People Democratic Party, PDP, resumed hearing on Wednesday in Jos.
The petitioner’s counsel, Barr. A.A. Madaki told the tribunal that the matter was slated for continuation of hearing and they have two motions.
According to the petitioners, they have filed an amended application dated the 8th Day of July 2023 and filed on the 23rd Day of July 2023 and all parties were served.
He explained further that the petitioners prayed the order of the court to allow them to motion scale through. The 1st respondent INEC stresses that they were served with the motion just on the 10th of July,2023 so the applications are not ripe for hearing.
The 2&3 respondents disclosed that they were served on 11/07/2023 by 3:20 pm so they still have enough time to respond.
However, the petitioners asked for an adjournment to Friday 15/07/2023 which was ruled out.
The tribunal adjourned to the 14,15, & 17 of July ,2023 for an indefinite hearing, “you would be recalled that the 4th &5th respondents’ application seeking to join was stroke out.
