As the result of over flooding in Bauchi State, three people lost lives and washed away over one thousand four hundred houses, farm inputs in Zaki and Gamawa local government areas of the State
Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir during his visit to the two local governments yesterday said that the communities are exposed to the danger of flooding and noted that year in and year out, losses of lives and properties are being recorded.
The Governor called for a collective effort in addressing the devastating effects of the incessant flooding affecting communities across the State
He, therefore, called on the federal government to as a matter of urgency assist the state in providing a permanent solution to the problem, and also provide palliative measures to the victims.
The governor donates two trucks of maize and medical consumables and urges the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to take inventory of the damages to enable the government to take immediate action about the matter.
In his part, Dr. Ibrahim Kabir who is the director general of Bauchi State Environment Protection Agency BASEPA said that as a result of flooding in the state, three people lost lives and destroyed over 1400 houses.
Dr Ibrahim Kabir warned the affected communities to relocate in order to save their lives.
BASEPA disclosed this yesterday when Governor Bala paid a visit to some affected communities.
