The Bauchi State Deputy Governor, who is also the Overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry of Education, on an unscheduled visit, has directed the immediate temporary closure of Sa’adu Zungur Model Primary and Secondary School, until next week Wednesday, the 15th of March, 2017, due to threat to morality as alleged in two instances of reported “mocked” marriages between some students of the school. The Hon Commissioner, took the measure yesterday, Friday 10th March, 2017, after rejecting the report of a probe committee he earlier ordered to investigate the cases.

Accordingly, the Hon. Commissioner, Nuhu Gidado, has directed all Directors in the Ministry of Education, the School Authority, the Teachers, the PTA, as well as the SBMC to liaise and come up with a detailed and more sincere report before the school opens on Wednesday, as no persons indicted, nor will the culprits be spared.

His Excellency, Nuhu Gidado, has vowed to resume his policing of indolence in public schools and also to permanently bring to an end, the unacceptable notion of “Sacred Cows” in both the Ministry of Education and in all public schools in Bauchi State.

Signed

Yakubu Adamu,

Special Assistant (Communications)

to His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State.
