The Midas Touch Of Hon. Musa Ibrahim To The Ministry of Environment

Hon. Musa Ibrahim was born on February 2 1975 in Doma Local Government Council of Nasarawa State, he attended Local Education Authority (LEA) Doma west primary school and later proceeded to St. John Bosco College, Doma, and graduated in 1997.

 

He obtained his Diploma in Marketing from the University of Jos in 2002 and later obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Management in 2008.

 

His popular name in Hausa is “Tuwo maganin Yinwa” meaning food is the antidote for hunger.

 

Musa Ibrahim started his political carrier way back 2007 when he contested for Member Nasarawa State House of Assembly under the banner of the then ruling People’s Democratic Party to represent the good people of Doma South but political gladiators could not allow him to represent his people as his mandate was scuttle and his opponent, Hon. Anthony Obande Abogye emerged as the lawmaker representing Doma South where he represents them from 2007 to 2015.

 

Musa Ibrahim who was called by his contemporaries as Musa Obasanjo did not relent after a dodged fight at the seat of power during the reign of late Governor,Aliyu Akwe Doma(Madaucin Doma) a primary election that almost ignites a crisis in Government House in Lafia.

 

Musa as the gold has no place to hide, He was again called upon by youth to come and represent them at the State House of Assembly in the 2015 election and was again defeated by his opponent, Hon. James Akoza Dangana who only served for one tenure under the ruling APC.

 

In continuation of his quest for power recontested in 2019 to represent Doma South constituency and emerged the flagbearer of the APC and was again defeated by his rival in the PDP, Hon. John Osewu to represent his constituency, Doma South.

 

The appointment of Hon. Musa, a talented and committed party man was a clear trajectory of the incumbent administration to have a soft landing ahead of the 2023 general election reason been that the current Deputy Governor held from Doma North constituency.

 

The deployment of Hon. Musa Ibrahim to the ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and his scorecard in the dormant ministry that no appointee would pray to be posted there, the workaholic cabinet member has used his exposure and ideas to effect change in the dearth ministry, and truly his flay for leadership has manifested.

 

The Honorable Commissioner, it would be recalled was commended by Governor Abdullahi Sule for his exemplary leadership quality as a cabinet member, He was commended by the Governor when Journalists across the thirteen Local Government of the State paid the Governor a visit.

 

While the second commendation was when Alago communities led by the Andoma of Doma comprises o Doma, Keana, Obi, Assakio, Aloshi, Agaza, Kadarko,  Rukubi, Agima, Okpata, Ijiwo, Ajimaka, Doka, Ankani, Agwatashi, Yelwa Ediya, Igbabo, Idadu paid the Governor a thanked you visit for nominating the Deputy  Governor as his make ministry.

 

The commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources within the shortest time in office has injected a new ground to one of the backward ministries no commissioner or civil servant would want to work at, He stands tall amongst his peers for unlocking his potential as a graduate of Business Administration and Management.

 

The hard-working commissioner had taken bold steps to strengthen the re-introduction of monthly sanitation by Governor Abdullahi Sule, Through the Governor the Commissioner was able to lobby the Federal Ministry of Environment to access a whooping N913,000,000mm for the ecological fund, money that was stopped for a period of four years by the Federal Government.

 

The coming of Musa Ibrahim has given rise to the upward increase in the Internally Generated Revenue of the ministry which was generating just N5m annually for the State.

 

His appointment is seen as a rare opportunity for the Governor to penetrate the nook and cranny of Ekye Development Area, The young man is a grass root mobilizer and a politician to the core who marched words with action by changing the narrative of the ministry.

 

The recent award by the National Association of Nigeria Student, National body to Honorable Musa Ibrahim serves as a morale booster to the commissioner whose political dream has turned to reality.

 

Again Musa was given a title by the paramount ruler of Yarkanaje of Uke, The emir said the commissioner bag the title of due to his immense contributions to state-building.

 

The Association shower encomium on his personality by making youth proud. The young politicians have made a niche in his few months in office, thereby expanding the frontiers of democratic leadership in Nasarawa State.
