Students Of Plateau Polytechnic Train On Peace And Non-Violence Approach

Students of Plateau state Polytechnic in Barkin Ladi has been trained on peace management, entrepreneurship and how to handle conflict in the society.

The Country Director of APURIMA, Mr Godwin Okoko said the one Day sensitization workshop is aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence among students and their immediate environment.

Okoko made this disclosure while declaring the workshop open on dialogue and enlightenment of students on the need to partner with other body in promoting peace in their domain.

He condemned the rising cases of internally displaced persons across middle belt which is directly caused by Fulani /farmers conflict.

According to him, the awareness campaign is to help reduce tension in the society and be part and parcel of peace building which sold function is to enable youth take over the mantle of leadership.

He charged the youth to be good ambassador and aspire for greater leadership position in their field of endeavour by studying hard and remains discipline.

Okoko commended the peace effort in Kaduna, Benue and Plateau states which yielding positive impact in the affected communities.

The students Union President, Comrade Pius Tongmaan Dadaar commended APURIMA Nigeria for organizing workshop for students in the area of non-violence and entrepreneurship training to provide them with knowledge of creating awareness to their community.

The SUG president said APURIMA ONLUS Nigeria, is for peace education and conflict mitigation training for students of Plateau Polytechnic Barkin Ladi which is supported by European Union providing youth.
