CANFollowing the revelation by President Muhammadu Buhari that the country’s oil funds had been stolen and kept in some foreign banks, the Youth chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on Federal government to take quick steps to prosecute the oil bunkers, describing the perpetrators as Heartless and wicked who have no sense of pity in their hart.

CAN which said it has received the development with shock and amazement made the call yesterday through its president elect, Engr. Daniel Kadzai in Jos, the Plateau state capital.

Kadzai said if the story about the stolen oil fund is true, it means that Nigeria was in serious problem which required urgent prayers to save the country.

He said, ‘ it is highly irresponsible for people of this country to steal our oil money at the detriment of millions of Nigerians who have been suffering to survive. Our educational institution and other sectors are in bad condition but took them to foreign countries.

“It is amazing and disappointing when people in the country are in poverty. We as a body condemned the act and uncalled for, ‘ he added.

Kadzai however applauded President Muhammadu Buhari and other international communities for making a bold step to recover the money, calling on all Nigerians to condemn the act.

He further called on the FG to put more effort to ensuring that the county’s boarder was not longer porous which according to him would assist in curbing criminal activities in the country.
