The Kadarko district of Wase Local Government Area in Plateau has blamed the killing and cattle rustling to religion, government support and tribal gang-up against the Tarok speaking natives.
The spokesperson of the group Mr Nankap Dombin who made this known in a press statement available to media in Jos ,said the political gangsterism have been the major causes of incessant attacks and cattle rustling in Wase LGA .
He appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Simon Bako Lalong to ensure that a committee of reconciliation is set to address the differences in managing the affairs of the council.
Dombin slammed the former governors ,” Chief Joshua Dariye and sen. Jonah David Jang for appointing only Muslim to head the administration at the detriment of Christian who have 70 percent of the population that occupied over 200 villages but were subjected to frustration and cheap blackmail to control the resources of the council.
He fingered that some of the issues include hatred, land dispute that has ravaged the people of Wase, adding that council and chairmanship elections which led to loss of lives properties in 1998 which haa not been resolve yet.
The natives proffer solutions for peaceful coexistence through dialogue and also allow people to go back to their communities and also provide level play ground for Christians and Muslims to enjoy rotational leadership position amongst them.
Mr Nankap Dombin stressed further unless government rise up to tackle the problem of insecurity in the country and tribal domination it will be impossible to fight the menace.
The community leaders also decry abandonment and neglect from the federal government after the military invaded and destroyed their houses nothing has been done to bring relief materials to the victims.
They pointed out that since the incident occurred people have been walloping in poverty without medical attention from federal and local government.
“We are calling on concern individual to come to our rescue because many pregnant women are suffering for lack of attention due to absence of motorable roads linking the affected communities”.
The group challenge that the first chairmanship elections was conducted in 1978 when a Tarok was declared winning but chief Solomon Daushep Lar refused that Idris Hassan should be the chairman.
