Wives of the dead mobile police and police men numbering 123 go wild today at the Nasarawa state Police command demanding the whereabouts of their husbands. 

It took the intervention of a Christian cleric to quell the uprising by the bereaved families who blocked Lafia-Akwanga highway aftermath of the mass killing, maiming and burning of scores of security operatives including ten (10) personnel of the State Security Services (SSS)  at Ombatse shrine by Eggon militant precisely a week.
The bereaved families mostly women gave an ultimatum of one week for the Governor of Nasarawa state Government to persuade the Federal Government and police authority to expedite action for the onward approval of their late husband’s gratuity, Mary Levis appealed to police authority not to allow their quest to died a natural death, she chastise police authority over the death of the love ones.

“They said our husbands are deployed to a crisis scene in Benue state instead, you people sacrifice our bread winners, adding that, we they wives of the death officers has given a one week ultimatum to the highest authority to look into the plight of the bereaved family or else we will go back to the highway, While some speakers chided Government over the mode of payment of the N1m compensation to each of the bereaved family by the state Government and police authority respectively.”
Also a relation to the slain police officer faulted Nigeria police for the delay in the payment of entitlement to members of the families, calling on the concerned authority,
The authority in-charged should ensure a nominal role, He further said the delayed in the payment of benefit is another bundle of suffering to family members, The State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura while donating a cheque of N1m to wives of the dead police officers expressed shock over the incidence, saying the state Government is at red alert to bring to book the perpetrators of the mass killings.
In same vain, on fewer than twenty five (25) corpses of the death policemen were brought to the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, eighteen corpses were brought in on  Friday while additional 7 corpses were brought in on Saturday, said a police source.
