Sheath Your Sword, Plateau Youths Appeal To Gov.Lalong To Accept Sen.Timothy Adudu Committee Reports

Plateau Youths, have applauded the Sen T. Adudu led committee and called on the leadership of the APC in Plateau state headed by Governor Simon Lalong to accept the report of the committee and quickly call on other aspirants and stakeholders to sheath their swords and embrace the path of peace for the good of their party and the constituency.

 

Comrade Ayuba Musa in a statement made available to this medium in Jos. lauded the transparent report of Sen.Timothy Adudu for conducting a credible election

 

The Sen.Timothy Adudu committee reports indicate that Hon Lumumba Adah Adeh emerged as the sole candidate of APC from Bassa LG after several pre-primary elections at both chiefdom and LG levels.

 

While hailing the tortuous process supervised by the committee, the Youths noted that there couldn’t have been a more democratic approach to coming up with a consensus candidate considering the number of aspirants that initially indicated an interest in the contest.

 

We remain nonpartisan but encourage free and fair democratic exercises where Christians partake in politics with love for one another and for all.

 

 

We are aware that Muslims and Christians are intertwined because they exist side by side and have for a long time lived together as one and must play the political game together as family.

 

We urge the leaders of Jos North and Bassa LGAs to, as a matter of urgency, convene peace meetings among all relevant stakeholders with a view to reducing internal wrangling and acrimony.

 

As a body, the further commends the governor, Rt Hon Bar Simon Bako Lalong for ceding the vacant Bassa/Jos North federal constituency seat to Bassa LG to complete the tenure.

 

As we appeal to the Party/Governor not to relent but to reconcile the APC  factions that may have arisen in both LGs to strengthen the party.
