Sen.  Hope Sworn In As Imo Gov, Vows To Probe Ohakim, Okorocha, Ihedioha

The recently sworn-in Imo State Governor,Sen.Hope Odidika Uzodinma,was on last Wednesday,Jan.15th 2020, officially sworn-in by the Imo Chief Judge,Hon.Justice Pachal Obinna Nnadi,as the current Governor of Imo State.

 

The indeleble epoch making  historical event (swearing-in-ceremony) in the lives of Imo people which to place at the Heroes Square New Owerri area of Imo State attracted mamorth crowd from across political parties in the 27 LGA of the State, includes top political merchants from the APC extraction from the State and National.

 

In his acceptance speech,the Executive Governor of Imo State,Sen.Hope Uzodinma,thanked God and Imo people for making him Governor through what he described as Justice from the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

 

Governor Uzodinma furthermore tagged his emergence as Imo State Governor as the “Hope of the Masses”, even as he advised Imolites to remain patient and hopeful.

 

“It is a historical moment, the judiciary stands out for special commendation via the revered temple of justice for Imo people and Nigerians. In the spirited attempt to subvert justice with the web of smart technicalities, the judiciary did not cave in but instead painstakingly untangled that web and ensure that justice was done in the end. I duff my cap to the Supreme Court for restoring confidence in our judicial process”, Governor Uzodinma submitted.

 

He admitted that his guber success could not possible without the unwavering support of the national leadership of the APC,as he extended his profound gratitude to the National Chairman of APC, Comr.Adams Oshiomhole,the national members, the State Working Committee of his party and the State Leadership of the APC for their doggedness and support to their daunting quest for justice.

 

He assured Imolites that irrespective of their political parties, his victory is for all Imo people because it is a victory against corruption, against impunity and victory for justice.

 

The Governor said,” Against the backdrop of where he is coming from, the need for the government to take off on a clean slate should not be overemphasized”.

 

Gov.Uzodinma,consequently mandated the Accountant General is hereby directed to forward to the office  of the Governor within 4 working days a comprehensive statement of financial stating all income and expenditure from May 29th 2011 to 2019,till date.

 

He similarly gave the Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Parastatals and Govt.agencies are to submit to my office within 4 working days all the comprehensive statement of contracts awarded to contractors,date of awards,stage of contracts and payment made,all payments and treasury transactions are suspended henceforth, within 2011-2020 Jan,15th.

 

Meanwhile, those past Governors of Imo State from 2011-2020 January,15th includes:”Chief Dr.Ikedi Ohakim,Sen.Rochas Okorocha and Chief Emeka Ihedioha.
