Governor. Simon Lalong has appointed his Deputy Governor, Prof. Sonni Tyoden to oversee education, science and technology and higher education.
The executive governor Lalong gave this appointment while swearing-in commissioners at little Rayfield , Jos Plateau state .
He challenged them to be selfless, diligent and faithfully with the fear of God and ensure, effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery to the people of Plateau state.

Lalong pledged that as human being error is part of governance as he said we have built confidence in our people and have seen the sincere support and cooperation of our people.
“We will work together to surmount all the remained hurdles and to further strengthen the confidence of people in government, appealing to those whose expectations were not met in the composition of the state executive council to please forget the bickering over the appointments and engaged themselves in prayers. And support the office holders”.
He commended the patriotic zeal of the members of Plateau state house of assembly and promised that we will continue to work harmoniously for the development of our state.
