The Joint security at the main entrance of the Government House, Lafia has beefed up a tight operation by adopting a “stop and search” for vehicles going and coming out of Government House.
A reliable source confided that the “stop and search” by the joint security comprises of the secret police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the police was as a result of unabated missing items from the warehouse, containers within the seat of power.
Feelers maintained that the majority of scraps of motorcycles used by successive administrations and parts of dysfunctional vehicles are missing from their positions.
A source who pleaded anonymity averred that some of the missing items include air conditioners that were either removed for repairs are also missing including office facilities.
He further explained that the perpetrators went ahead and broke into containers parked inside the Government House and those within the second gate up to the filing station, Government House clinic.
An insider when asked about the content of the containers revealed that the quantum of the containers contained gadgets and sophisticated facilities, sharp sand, and bricks imported from outside the country.
The staff of the Government House who did not want his name in print expressed displeasure over the new development which he described as a waste of time, saying the “stop and search” would not last due to political reasons and if it will continue it would be selective treatment.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Comrade Ibrahim Addra could not be reached for comment at press time.
