Robbers Attack Plateau Ministry, Cart Away N3 Million

Suspected armed robbers on Tuesday attacked the Plateau State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and carted away over N3 million, Daily Trust is reporting.

It was gathered that the robbers arrived at the ministry premises in a Toyota Camry, few minutes after the cashier returned to office from a commercial bank.

It was learnt that the cashier had left one of the commercial banks with the money and had arrived at the Ministry, located along Murtala Mohammed Way around 11am.

A worker in the ministry yesterday confirmed the incident, saying the robbers were about six in number, wearing masks and armed with guns.

“We suspect the attackers followed the cashier from the bank where he withdrew the money. The incident was reported to the police who invited the cashier and the security personnel on duty to give statements.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Tyopev Terna, requested time to verify the incident, but did not do so as of press time.
