Revealed: How A Judge in Nasarawa Court Used Torchlight during Court session

The Chief of Nasarawa State, Justice Suleiman Umar Dikko has confided that the conditions of courts in the State are in shamble.

 

The CJ hinted this while clearing the air on the prolonged strike action embarked by the State branch of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, a strike that lead to the congestion of prisons in the State.

 

Apart from the Total blackout in one of the court situated in the State capital, food vendors are in the habit of distracting sittings, other negative features of the court is insufficient seats while on the side of Judges,they come to court at will without taken into consideration of the plight of those languishing in prisons.

 

Suleiman Umar Dikko explained that the State Governor, Engr.Abdullahi Alhaji.Sule’s urgent intervention to rebuild the collapsed court in Gudi and Toto was at the right footing, stating that more is expected from the State Government.

 

“I’m aware of the conditions of our courts, saying chunk amount of money go to renting”.

 

He in addition explained that Doma Magistrate court, Upper court, Agyaragu and amongst others are in a sorry conditions.

 

While reacting over the grapevine making round that the immediate past Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura have released huge amount of money for the furnishing of the newly commissioned High Court Complex, the Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Umar Dikko debunked the claims.

 

Dikko confided that no penny was released by the former Governor to his office in respect to furnishing of the new High Court Complex.

 

“To be plain to you, no Kobo was handed over to High Court for the completed edifice, available information revealed to us was that the State Government is yet to release the key to the new building, we are waiting anxiously to relocate to the new office, he stated.
