Nasarawa Judicial Strike: JUSUN Protest Illegal Deduction By Chief Judge, Disrupts Court Process

The Nasarawa State Wing of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria yesterday disrupted court sitting headed by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Suleiman Umar Dikko.

The protesters disrupted the High Court 1 presided over by the Chief Judge protesting over Illegal deductions by the office of the CJ.

Members of JUSUN in the state were protesting over the scraping of the Customary Court.

The Chairman, Jimoh Musa said that their members were denied lots of benefits for quite a long time under this reign.

JUSUN Chairman said the commencement of an indefinite strike and protest will continue until their demands are met.

Musa averred that the National Judicial Council had given three slots to Nasarawa state for the appointment of three Judges into the court to enable the court form quorum for sitting.

He added that nothing was done to reopen the court.

He buttressed that the Union wants to stop all the illegal deductions by the Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Umar Dikko.

Jimoh affirmed that the Union is struggling for better welfare for its members but not fighting with any ill-motive.

The Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Umar Dikko would not be reached for comment as at press time to clarify over the allegations raised by Chairman of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria in the State

The CJ did not react to a text message sent to him by universalreportersng.com.

“Justice, Aslm, I want to confirm an allegation by JUSUN of Illegal deduction by you sir”.

The text message further read

The indefinite strike embarked by Union has entered its third day as all courts are under lock and key.
