Governor Sule Moves To Merge 22 Motor Parks To Tackle Gridlock In Karu, Nasarawa’s Gateway To FCT

Governor Abdullahi Alhaji. Sule of Nasarawa State has reiterated his administration’s readiness to end the incessant traffic jam within Karu Local Government Area,a gateway to the Federal Capital Territory.

 

The Governor’s position was contained in a press statement signed by the Director General, Strategic Communications and Press Affairs,Yakubu Lamai and made available to Journalists.

 

The statement unveiled that the Chief executive intends to build a new mega Bus Terminal so that the current 22 motor parks which are scattered from Nyanya-Mararaba to Masaka will all be closed down.

 

The Governor, according to the statement hinted this when he paid a visit to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammed Musa Bello seeking synergy to open up Nyanya-Masaka-Karu axis which he said was overstretched.

 

Among other requests for partnership which Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule presented to the FCT Minister, included the proposal for both Nasarawa State and the FCT to construct optional roads which can be tolled; adopt complimentary waste management & disposal systems and also construct a Rail Road from Nyanya to Keffi, just like the Abuja Rail line which currently conveys passengers to Kaduna.

 

He further maintained the influx of people from the nation’s capital to Karu is a major causes of gridlock within Karu-Nyanya in the FCT and Nyanya-Masaka in Nasarawa State.

 

Governor Sule indicated that only the centralization of one major motor park would end the trepidation faced by commuters plying that route.

 

Engineer Sule saluted the probity, integrity and hard work of the FCT Minister, Alhaji Muhammed Musa Bello and noted that such exemplary attributes must have prompted President Muhammadu Buhari to reappoint him for the 2nd time.

 

On his part, the FCT Minister, Muhammed Musa Bello directed the Executive Secretary, Technical Department to make digital presentations showing maps, new roads under construction and possible areas of collaboration.
