Return Government Properties Or Face The Wrath Of The Law Jigawa Govt Tells Ex-Government Officials

Muhammad-Abubakar-BadaruThe chairman of the committee set up by the Jigawa government to recover all state government assets misappropriated over the last four years, Retired Air Commodore Abubakar Sadiq, who featured in a Radio programme on Freedom Fm, Dutse ‘Barka da Hantsi on Friday 10th July 2015 has said the committee set up to trace and recover  all property belonging to the state government such as official vehicles, equipments, furniture and fittings as well as the movable and immovable  properties  owned by state government has so far compiled some data as well as inventory of the properties and will swing in to action from this week.

He noted that, it is not the intention of the committee to witch-hunt, molest, intimidate or threaten the defaulters but to prove that, APC Government manifestation change on prudent and accountability is clearly on course at all  level of Government in the country.

Retired Air Commodore Abubakar Sadiq called on the political and public office holders who siphoned the public properties to hasten and return it to the committee or nearest police formation and received acknowledgement receipt from the committee.

He warned that, any officer that acquired the public properties illegally and refuses to return it to the government will face wrath of law.

The chairman of the committee observed that, properties worth billions of naira were illegally diverted in the state within four years and vowed to trace and recover them and return it to the state government accordingly.

He appealed to the patriotic citizens who have any information about the diverted public properties of the state to report to the nearest police station or  Secretariat of the committee at SSG office, Dutse or even to reach the committee via [email protected] or through Gsm number 08033118707,0803 467 7479.

Rtd.Air Commodore Abubakar Sadiq revealed that, the committee has the records of ownership of all movable and immovable properties and warned against vandalisation or change of purpose.

The chairman of the committee then cited the example of outgoing Head of Service Jigawa state Alh.Mustapa Aminu who kept his official vehicle in his former office before he vacated the office which he described as an act worthy of emulation.

On the auctioned public properties, the chairman of the committee noted that, they will investigate the process of the auctioning, if it is not in order automatically the committee will cancel the auctioning and return the properties to the government.

The chairman then stated that, the committee will publish the list of the defaulters for legal action and public information.
