Presidential Delegation On Peace Mission Visits Adamawa State By Tom Garba,Yola
Amidst uproar of February 2015 polls shift by Independent Electoral commission, a presidential committee on peace mission was in Adamawa state with the gospel of peace throughout 2015 general elections, they on a visit to preach the gospel of peace and harmonious 2015 polls even as the military said they will not guarantee the security of Nigerians by February elections.
The chairman of the committee Alhaji Tanko Yakasai,an elder statesman of the Arewa consultative forum emphasized the need of peace in our society as the only sustainable means of development and a causal agents of unity in every society. Yakasai said this while being received by the deputy governor of Adamawa state HE Sa’ad M C Tahir in Government house.
“The presidential peace mission established by the office of the vice president is mandated to extend peace mission across the country as a prelude to the next month’s elections and also to comb down all uprising situations rose as a result of political tension created in the state by some politician who do not mind the cooperates existence of the people of Adamawa state.” Yakasai said
While at the Lamido Adamawa Palace ,the Presidential committee on Peace mission said their coming is an idea conceived by the federal government to liaise with elder statement in the country to go and preach the gospel of peace in every part of Nigeria, as 2015 general is critical to every Nigerian and all people’s hands must be in desk to insure the a hitch free elections ,most especial that a state like Adamawa is political been bastardised by some group of selfish politician who are bent on making the state to be a political tension crisis state.
On his response the Lamido of Adamawa, grand patron Tabital Fulaku international and chancellor University of Benin,Dr Mohammed Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, Said the idea conceived by the President is a welcome development and will liaise with every stake holder to see the actualisation of the said ,mandate being a custodian of people, whose hope of existence is through the existence peace being enjoyed.
