Post Insurgency: PCNI Targets Over 15, 000 Returnees IDPs For Free Medical Intervention In Adamawa

The Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative ( PCNI ) has flag off  free medical intervention in Mubi to cover about 15,000 returnees IDPs  in Adamawa.

Alhaji Tijjani Tumsah, the Vice chairman of the initiative made the disclosure during the commencement of the outreach Programme at Mubi general Hospital on Friday.

Tumsah said that the programme  was part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s plan for health care delivery meant for vulnerable internally displaced persons and residents in host communities in the northeast.

” Initially, the program was designed to capture no less than 5,000 returnees Internally Displaced Persons from the  most affected Seven Local Government Areas in the state.

” But because of the mass turn out of the  people who are in serious need of medical help ,  the Initiative  decided to open its  Data to capture more people,” Tumsah said.

According to Tumsah, the exercise would last for seven days in the state and would cover people from Madagali, Michika,Mubi North, Mubi South, Maiha Hong and Gombi local government areas.

He noted that the intervention had already been carried out in Borno and Yobe states.

He urged benefitting state governments to continue with the Programme from where the initiative stops for the benefit of their communities.

In his remark, the Executive Director of ProHealth International, Dr. Iko Ibango said that about 80 different medical practitioners were participating in the Programme.

Ibango  noted that the beneficiaries would be cross examine in various common ailments such as   eye treatment, pediatric,  antenatal care, pharmacy, dental care and surgical operations.

In his respond on behalf of the community, the Emir of Mubi, Alhaji Abubakar Isa thanked the federal government for the support.

Isa reiterated the commitment of the emirate in supporting such laudable government intervention.
