Gbong Gwom Jos, CAN Tasks Church Leaders To Mandate All Eligible Members To Show  PVC Before Church Entering Service

The Chairman Council of Traditional Rulers, Plateau State, His Royal Highness Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Gyang Jacob Buba has called on all fellowship members of the church in the state to avail themselves of the ongoing independent Electoral Commission, INEC, registration of permanent voters card (PVC)ahead LGs and 2019 general elections.

Speaking at the 3rd prayer Day, The Royal father urged the church leadership to continue to pray for those in the position of authority so as to sustain this our democracy.

He also tasked all eligible youths to take advantage of the INEC ongoing permanent voters card registration to acquire the PVC for them to make the right choice of those who will govern them.

He appealed that the voter’s card is an essential ingredient of perfecting our democracy and to ensure power return to the people.

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Chairman, Rev.Dr Soja Bewarang also issue warning to all church leaders to make sure it becomes mandatory for all eligible members to show their PVC on Sunday before they are allowed in for worship service.

According to him, this goes to all the head of denominations across the 17 local government areas of Plateau state to reduce outright complaint of malpractices during voting exercise.

The CAN chairman who gave this warning in a church service organized for the 3rd annual prayer Day in Jos.

We are calling on the churches to ensure that all those eligible youth of the CAN go to all the registration centers and register for them to obtain their PVC for them not to be disenfranchised in the forthcoming 2018-2019 general elections, he said.

He expressed dissatisfaction with people embarking on hatred speech on social media especially the use of Facebook to spread wrong information or post-fault information that is capable of bringing crisis amongst the peace-loving citizens of Plateau and Nigeria.

Rev Soja Bewarang challenged the congregation of Christian faithful that our country can only overcome problems if all a sundry go on their knees to seek for God forgiveness and shows love to one another not to post hate speech on facebooks.

He commended the church leadership for remaining grateful and their show of unity, love, and understanding in a time of challenges and trial like this.

Bewarang prayed that God should continue to keep us together in the spirit of togetherness which is what God wants from us to succeed in achieving it through positive prayers.
