The principal of Government College Lafia has commended the commitment of the state Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule for his prompt action to bring succor to the porous environment by awarding the contract for the fencing of the College.
In an interview with selected Journalists who are monitoring the resumption of secondary and primary schools in the state as directed by the Governor, He said the fencing of the school would address the rising waves of missing furniture.
He averred that the College is in dire need of furniture ranging from desk and chairs which he explained are been carried by people of the host community, Ombi.
The principal further explained that desk and chairs are broken on a daily basis by those using the porous school environment as their hideout.
‘’we reported the matter to Ombi community and we were given two vigilantes to complement our insufficient security.
‘’one fateful day while on inspection at about 6;30pm at the school premises I did not open my office instead I dictated a shadow from the other direction and in the twinkle of an eye the man hiding by the pillar stab me at the head, carted away my motorcycle, money and android cellphone’’
He further added that when I regain my consciousness I discovered that everything I have is gone and I struggle cross to the main road not until when I was at home while in the sitting room I felt a drop of blood from my forehead and instantly my son asked me where is my motorcycle and cellphone, that was when I realized what I pass through in the school’’.
‘’The latest development was that the Governor sent people from the Ministry of Works to carry out a survey of the entire environment’’.
