CASE 1
SUSPECTS:
i. Abubakar Ado (aka Sumaye), age 31yrs, of kukar samu village, safana LGA, Katsina State. He confessed to have purchased AK47 rifle at the sum of Seven Hundred thousand (N700,000.00) and have used it with his gang for several kidnappings and collection of ransom, and rustled hundreds of cattle in Katsina State.
ii. Muhammadu Murtala, age 20years of Malamai village, Danmusa LGA, Katsina State. He confessed to be in possession of two (2) AK47 rifles which he purchased from one Alh. Nashama. He confessed to have gang raped a woman along with three (3) of his gang members and also a member of armed bandit
iii. Idris Usman age 20years of Mara village, Danmusa LGA, Katsina State. He confessed to be an armed robber/cattle rustler for about three (3) years. 200 cattle were recovered from him
iv. Alh Sani Lawal age 37years of Kaigan Malamai village in Danmusa LGA, Katsina State. Arrested in possession of one (1) ak47 rifle
v. Alh. Haruna Sani Age 47, Of Kaigan Malamai Village In Danmusa LGA.
vi. One Abdullahi (Other Name Unknown) A member of the Gang now at large arrested in possession of Ak47 Rifle
CASE 2
ARREST OF KIDNAPPERS/ARMED ROBBERS ON THEIR WAY TO ROB A FILLING STATION AND KIDNAP INNOCENT PEOPLE IN MAKURDI, BENUE STATE.
SUSPECT:
i. JOHN AZASHACHIA ‘M’ AGE 26 YEARS KATSINA-ALA BENUE STATE
ii. JACOB AONDONNES ‘M’ AGE 30 YEARS
iii. TYAN DENIS ‘M’ AGE 27 YEARS
iv. SANGO VINCENT ‘M’ AGE 34 YEARS
v. SONY JATTO ‘M’ AT LARGE
The above mentioned suspects who travelled from Katsina-ala LGA to Makurdi, Benue State were arrested in a hotel in Makurdi while preparing to rob and kidnap people a filling station in Makurdi. The leader of the gang JOHN AZASHACHIA ‘M’ AGE 26 YEARS FROM KATSINA-ALA, BENUE STATE, confessed to have engaged in several kidnappings and armed robbery in the recent time. His gang according to him were responsible for the kidnap of two (2) women which include the wife of a retired judge. The two (2) women were killed and their corpses dumped in a river after collection of One Million, Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N1,200,000) from their family.
2. Investigation is being intensified to arrest other members of the gang still at large.
All the suspects in the two cases confessed to the crime and have admitted to various criminal roles they played in the commission of the crime. They will be charged to court on completion of investigation.
