Police Officers Deny Gov. Amaechi Entrance To Official Residence
In a fresh twist to the crisis rocking the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), some heavily armed policemen are said to have prevented the convoy of the Rivers state governor, Amaechi from entering the state’s government house.
The governor, who was returning from an outing, was said to have met the policemen at the gate of his official residence, and they prevented him from driving in.
It is not clear why the policemen acted this way, or if they have received directive to do this.
When contacted, the commissioner of police in the state, Mr. Joseph Mbu, denied knowledge of the incident, but promised to investigate.
