Police Arrest 3 Persons For Forcing 13-Year-Old To Eat Faeces

Three people have been arrested by the operatives of Kano State Police Command for allegedly forcing a 13-year-old Almajiri to eat human faeces that were dumped by an unknown person in the area.

The incident happened on Thursday after the father of the boy, Mallam Kabiru, from Kiru town, reported the matter to the police in Sharada, Kano, DAILY TRUST reports.

According to him, his son cannot even sit by himself, as the people, after forcing him to eat the human waste, also bathed him in it.

Although he was taken to the hospital, the boy didn’t even know where he was, the father said.

The DPO of the division, CSO Abdurrahman, raised a team of personnel to investigate the matter, and the three people were arrested.

One of the teachers in the almajiri school told Freedom Radio that the people accused the boy of open defecation within their street while he was not the actual person that committed the offence.

“They just saw faeces on their street around 9:30pm and they were searching for the person that did it. When the boy was passing by, a woman saw him and just said he was the one who did it. She held the boy and called the people.

“Immediately they came, they began to spray the toilet on his face and even forced him to eat it,” he said.

When contacted, the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident and said the three suspects were in their custody.

Meanwhile, DAILY TRUST reports that investigation has commenced on the matter even as the boy is receiving treatment.
