Please Forgive Us For Endorsing Orogu As PDP Chairman-Former Lawmaker Begs Party Supporters

A former member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Honorable Anthony Obande has sought forgiveness from the broad spectrum populace of the People’s Democratic Party over the emergence of Honorable Francis Orogu as the party chairman.

Obande, a two-time member representing Doma South Constituency (PDP) disclosed this during a campaign rally of Honorable Sidi Bako, the State Chairmanship contender ahead of  November 14 State congress in Doma Local Government.

Honorable Anthony Obande said all the members that work tirelessly for the success of Hon. Orogu emerged as Chairman own the supporters of the party an apology.

“And for the supporters of Orogu shine your eyes and vote a leader with human relations that would bring about even development, not division”.

He described the PDP under the chairmanship of Honorable Francis Orogu as a misery occasioned by bad leadership

Hon. Mohammed Baba Ibaku also a former lawmaker in the NSHA while speaking at Doma called on delegates to remain firm by electing a responsible person with a pedigree as chairman not voting those that would hoodwink the success of the party.

While in Lafia he urged the party delegates and supporters to shun the ongoing campaign of calumny that if Hon. Muhammed Sidi Bako would form a new party executive in the state as well extend the same to the Local Government executive of the party as an untrue statement.

“The suspension of critical stakeholders of the party by Orogu was the beginning of bad things to happen in our party, He added.

The immediate past chairman of the party, Yunana Iliya while addressing the supporters of the party at the state campaign office of Honorable Sidi Bako commended delegates for their support.

He further frowned at the state of affairs of the party under Francis Orogu, stating that he left a more vibrant and committed party which he said was reduced to an opposition party marred by the illegal suspension of members.

“Our party has descended to the abyss under Orogu who I handed over the party to, but today everything was grounded to a halt”.

The Deputy governorship candidate of the party in the 2019 election, Hon. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo in his speech appealed for peace amongst party loyalists.

“It shouldn’t be winning at all cost or by all means”.urging party delegates and members to maintain peace and tranquility during and after the election”.

The chairmanship contender, Sidi Bako assured the party that he would re-organize the party for optimum result.

Saying his emergence as the party chairman would mark the beginning of good things at the party.

The heavyweight of the party in the campaign team includes the immediate past chairman, Yunana Iliya, Honorable Minister and one-time member House of Representatives representing Awe/Doma/Keana Federal Constituency, Hon. Musa Elayo, Hon.Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.

Other core politicians in the team are the likes of former Secretary to the State Government, Jibrin Sabo Keana AKA JSK, the Waziri Azara, a contestant for House of Assembly election in Awe.
