The Plateau Southern Senatorial District Zonal Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) ,Hon.Simon Domle has called on the National Working Committee, NWC, to expel Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Wike, from the party’s as National Secretary and suspend the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum,  to pave the way for the 2027  general elections.

Speaking on the internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, Simon Domle frowned that a lot of disgruntled elements who have penetrated the party are now creating acrimony for their selfish interest at heart.

He condemned the fresh twist, as 11 out of 19 members of the National Working Committee have rejected the return of Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary.

Domle said that PDP founders are trying to save the party, but some money mongers or launderers who are bent on selling the party to the highest bidder are working hard to destroy it.

He disclosed that those greedy politicians are not party men and they didn’t have the interest of the party so they conspired between the National Chairman and the Secretary to wreak havoc, then move to the opposition.

Domle accused the National Chairman of contributing if not, he wouldn’t have allowed the National secretary, who claimed he won the Enugu state primaries and lost in the governorship, to now come back to resume his claims.

He pointed out that there are no laws in Nigeria that allow someone to resign their position and come back to resume office.

We saw what the National Chairman is plotting in Kebbi state, he is now canvassing for the seat of Governor and planning to defect to the APC.

Simon Domle condemned that the two political traitors are plotting to sell PDP to the highest bidder, so he intends to bring back the National Secretary to help him achieve it.

He urged the PDP, BOT, and NWC members to disagree with the movement on the 30th Day of June, 2025, during the NEC meeting, which is the highest decision-making body.

He explained further that taking this action will help the party to actively participate in the politics of Nigeria fully in 2027.

He also promised that the 11 NWC members also insisted that the party’s National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025, would hold as planned.

He dismissed claims made by the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, that Anyanwu had been asked to resume duties and that the NEC meeting had been cancelled.

“Furthermore, the claim by Amb. Damagum that Sen. Samuel Anyanwu has been asked to resume office as the National Secretary of the Party is therefore misleading being contrary to the resolution of NEC.

“In the light of the foregoing, the 100th NEC meeting as scheduled for Monday, 30th June, 2025, has not been cancelled or postponed,” the statement read.

The rejection comes just hours after Damagum, flanked by party leaders including Bauchi State Governor and PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman, Bala Mohammed, and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, told reporters after a visit to the Independent National Electoral Commission that Anyanwu had been reinstated and that the NEC meeting had been replaced by an Expanded Caucus meeting.

Domle pushed back the argument that  the NWC 11 firmly pushed back,  that no individual or organ of the party has the constitutional authority to override NEC resolutions.

“The pronouncements by the Acting National Chairman have no foundation.

“No organ of the party, including the NWC, individual or group, has the power to cancel, overrule, veto or vary the resolution of the NEC under the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017).

“For the avoidance of doubt, the NEC is the highest decision-making organ of the party, second only to the National Convention.

“By virtue of Section 31 (3) of the PDP Constitution, the resolution of the NEC to hold its 100th meeting on Monday, 30th June 2025, is binding on all organs, officers, chapters, and members of the party,” they said.

NWC members who signed the statement include:

Hon. (Arc) Setonji Koshoedo (Ag. National Secretary)

Domle stressed that the judiciary in Nigeria is not working and they’re not straight forward if not how can a lawyer or a judge who doesn’t know what happened on election day sat over quashed it .

He noted that someone won election legitimately then the tribunal would bring in those that lost even when we  a bid by the court judgment they are still pursuing and witch hunting them .

Domle maintained that those are the enemies of Governor Caleb Mutfwang achievement who is working to provide dividends of democracy to the people .

Adding that they only want to slow him down or distract his performance without justification to their action so our citizens most wake up to defend our democracy .
