Plateau Publishers Promises To Hold Successful Election On Sunday, 28th April

The Plateau Publishers Association of Nigeria has concluded all arrangement to hold hitch free Congress Election on Sunday 284th April, 2019 with 95 % compliance from the two factional aggrieved members.

 

The interim Chairman, Mr Joseph  Adudu Publisher of African Drum Magazine and the Secretary ,Amb Valentine Adese, publisher of the Reality Newspaper, who disclosed this in a press conference held at the Rwang Pam street in Terminus, Jos on Friday.

 

 

Adudu told journalists that the five man committee setup by the Director General, Industrial Training Fund, ITF,  Sir Joseph Ari which brought the two factional leaders together under one umbrella had achieved tremendous success.

 

He express optimism that the task given to them to conduct credible election devoid of rancour is one of the most amazing challenge but they’re ready surmount it.

 

 

The Interim Management Committee of the Plateau State Publishers Association says it has completed arrangements to conduct Elections to Elects Executive officials to man the  affairs of the Association in the next three years.

 

Speaking on the level of preparedness, the Interim Chairman of the committee and the Publisher of the African Drum, Mr. Joseph Adudu said the Election if fixed for the 28th day of 2019.

 

He said, Publishers as employers of labour and trainers of IT Students studying Mass communication from various institutions of learning in the State have also been partnering with government and other public institutions for a better society.

 

He Commended the state government, high profile personalities in the state led by the Director General of the Industrial Training Fund, Sir Joseph Ari for intervening in the crises that bedeviled the Association in recent time which led to the splingter groups within the Association.

 

He said with the intervention, both factions have merged together with a firm resolved to work under the aegis of Plateau Publishers Association for the promotion of peace Journalism for the development of the state.

 

He said the Association has so far constituted a Constitutional drafting committee to work on the Association’s Code of conduct.

 

Adding that authentic members of the Association have been screened and will be participating in the election, saying, interested candidates have picked interest forms for various positions.
