Plateau PDP In Confusion As Two Factions Battle For the Sole Of The Party

The crisis rocking the Plateau State PDP is far from being over, as the quest for who should be identified as the Chairman of the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has put the party into more crisis as party members are at each other’s throat.

As learnt by this medium the battle for who leads the party is now between Hon. Badung Pam and Hon. Damishi T. Sango.

Just recently, the party was thrown into crisis when the State Secretary of the party Hon. Damian Shekarau recently resigned his position from the faction, led by Damishi Sango in the state, a situation that put the Damishi Sango’s faction into predicament which has also forced them to embark into series of meetings thereby refusing to announce the acceptance Hon. Damina’s resignation.

Universalreporters247.com learnt a show of who is who hold sway of the party in the State has led to the two factions in a battle of supremacy as recent rumour of  a call for stakeholders meeting,  which was slated for last Friday prompted a press release by Badung leadership where they dissociated themselves from what they termed a purported meeting ostensibly from Damishi Sango’s faction.

In the press release signed by Emmanuel Macham, PDP State Publicity Secretary Plateau State, it state thus; “The attention of the State Working committee of PDP Plateau State Chapter has been drawn to a text message in circulation inviting stakeholders to a purported Caucus/Stakeholders meeting by one Mr Ishaku Chuntai slated for Friday 31st March 2017.”

The SWC wish to categorically disassociate itself from the so-called invitation and state that the State Director of Administration Mr Anthony Konkong who attends meetings at the National Secretariat is the only person constitutionally permitted by the SWC to send out meeting invitations and receive  mails for the party, and at no time has the party mandated any person to act while Mr Anthony Konkong is still constitutionally discharging his functions as the State Director of Administration.”

“We humbly request our most cherished Stakeholders who to us are the fulcrum of the party to ignore such text messages. The SWC is consulting with Stakeholders on the best possible way for genuine reconciliation in the state chapter hence wouldn’t be involved in a meeting shredded in secrecy.”
