In a press statement made available to journalists in Jos, the condemn the incessant killings
We are troubled and saddened that Government inaction has cost innocent lives and has exposed the weakness of our security architecture. We therefore call on Government to live up to its constitutional mandate as the bloodletting needs to stop.
We call on citizens of Plateau to be calm while we look up to God for succour as He is the Almighty protector.
May we be united as one and be optimistic that a safer and better Plateau is possible with the right leadership in place.
Meanwhile, Plateau state government has observed with great concern the manner in which gory pictures of victims of the unfortunate attacks in parts of the state are being circulated on the social media.
While sympathizing with affected families and communities, government is advising citizens to respect the sanctity of both the living and the dead, particularly, at this time when the entire state is in mourning mood.
In a statement in Jos Plateau state commissioner of information and communication, Yakubu Dati appeals to citizens to remain calm, vigilant report any suspicious persons or activities to security operatives.
He assures government will never relent in its commitment to protect the lives and property of its citizens.
