The association of Plateau Pragmatic Leadership Forum (PPLF) wants the Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC,to give citizens additional two week extension of the ongoing voters registration exercise in Plateau state .
The group pointed out that with the additional two-day extension by the federal government many Nigerians will not still be captured in their Polling Units across the state.
The Coordinator of the group, Comrade Joshua Wang in a press statement made available to Journalists yesterday ,appealed to the Resident Electoral Commissioner ,Mr Habu Zarma to provide more machines with trained personnels that will be deployed in all polling units to help Facilitate the re-registration Exercise.
He advised INEC officials not to disenfranchised voters due to, Logistics or materials reason.
According to him,” this ugly trend call for urgent attention not to bridge the peaceful coexistence that is being enjoyed by our people.
He emphasized the need for government to take a careful study of the political consciousness, not to disenfranchise rural community in this exercise.
Wang lamented that with the extension of dateline to six days non of polling Units were able to register up to 300 voters.
” We employ INEC to pay serious attention to the problem which is directly pushing the commission backward”.
He expressed disappointment with the ongoing voter’s registration exercise by challenging INEC to live up to its constitutional responsibility, stressing that the most affected Local Government Areas include ; Jos North, Jos South, Qua’anpan and Langtang South Local Government Areas.
