Plateau Is Poised To Create Conducive Atmosphere For Tourists –Gov.Lalong

Governor Simon Bako Lalong has said his administration is poised to continually creating a conducive environment for all citizens in the state to practice their trade and vocation without hindrance.

Lalong stated while unveiling the 2017 Jos’s carnival of the rich cultural of plateau state by showcasing the tourist potentials of the state to the world.

Lalong who disclosed this at the maiden Edition held at the Eliel center, Jos expressed confidence to world that peace is finally here in Plateau, adding that with the enduring peace; “we can achieve a lot by reducing youth restiveness among our teeming populace.”

He stressed that plateau people are now showcasing their love, understanding, value and accommodating nature through art and culture to the rest of the world.

According to him; “we are restoring the home of peace and tourism to take advantage of this home of hospitality business to reclaim the tourist vision of carnival.

The 2017 Jos carnival has been described as the major tourist destination for international tourists which ranked second in Africa after Kenya in the world map, he added.

Lalong assured of government readiness to practice the basic concept of rising and developing the state as one that introduces tribal involvement.

He noted that with enduring peace and security; “ we will overcome all other hurdles that might stand in our way, he therefore, invite organizers to make this carnival a success because it’s one clear way through which we can exhibit to the world the return of peace in the state.

The Chairman of the occasion, Alex Naatuam said promoting local culture to an international standard will boost the economic base of plateau people.

He sued for peaceful coexistence among all tribes to encourage government development and empower the youth.

“We will also be promoting our unity in diversity and by extension, showcasing our strength as a united people under God love”, he added.

Naatuam urged all the stakeholders to leave this event with the passion and spirit to move this state up the ladder so as collectively pass our rich cultural heritage to the next generation.
