Plateau Govt Approves N2.8 Billion For Street Lights In Jos Metropolis

The plateau state government has approved the purchase of street light to 11 major areas within Jos the state capital this was the highpoint of the state executive council meeting presided over by Governor simon Lalong at the government house little rayfield,Jos.

The State commissioner for finance Regina Soemlat, who gave a total a breakdown of figures approved for the purchase of the street light in response to the light up J.town Initiative of the Lalong administration disclose the area’s as follows Tean Junction to D.Medical Junction with a spur to Raholl kana,Haipang road roundabout to mararaba Jama’aa roundabout to the state secretariat overhead bridge and from miango junction to wild life park road, Jishe roundabout to rantya lowcost, farin gada to Bauchi road,polo roundabout to farin gada then plateau hospital roundabout hill station road network the 10th one is plateau hospital through central Bank maternity Bauchi road terminus Ahmadu Bello way to polo roundabout road network the 11th one is masalacin Juma’aa to polo roundabout.

The commissioner for works Pam Botmang explained the terms of agreement between government and the contractor of the street lighting project saying for the supply and maintenance  of the street light at Jos metropolis is going to cover a total of 73.5 kilometers of road within the metropolis he added that it is a contracting model whereby 20 percent of the amount involve will be covered by the government while 80 percent will covered by the contractors.

Botmang also disclose government plans to boost the state profile in critical areas such as health, infrastructure and commerce through agreement with international partners he mentioned that the state will set up a team that will engaged LANMILL NIGERIA LIMITED with a memorandum of understanding so that they can secure source for funding to enable the state to take 15 number road projects total length   of 330 kilometers.
