- Let their impeachment bid not be for political structure, says Edoziem
Rumours of political wars and leadership crises over the recognition of some party stalwarts as apex leaders in APC extraction from across the 27 LGA’s of Imo State had obviously revealed that some stakeholders of the ruling political party have clearly drawn battle lines.
It was gathered that some leaders of the party are set and ready to fight dirty against each other ahead of the forthcoming coming elections in the state.
Sources disclosed that the looming war started immediately after the recently held Imo APC Congresses at the Wards, Local Governments, and at State level.
The above assertions on leadership crises were made known to newsmen recently from some online media platforms.
According to news sources, “Some members of APC in the state have obviously sworn never to allow others to climb politically in their leadership quests, whereas, others who claimed they were too close, friendly and familiar with the Imo State State Governor, Sen.Hope Uzodinma, have continued to brag with their connections and contacts, insisting that they can sack or impeach anyone at any time”.
Upon those insinuations, the case of Ikeduru LGA amongst other Local Government Areas is not farfetched to the real truth of an alleged controversial impeachment saga of the Imo Deputy Governor, Prof.Placid Njoku, discourtesy of one of the leaders in his Local Government, Chief Charles Amadi, aka Charlvon.
Copied from the news making the round and it reads,” Prince Charles Amadi, aka Charlvon in Ikeduru LGA APC, is bent on sacking the Imo Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Professor, Placid Njoku, an erudite professor, also from Ikeduru”.
News posted, circulated, and propagated by one “Obia’La Network Int’l”, in some online platforms and was lifted into various WhatsApp Groups, and other Social Media Outfits accused Charlvon Amadi of scheming to impeach Prof.Placid.
It could be recalled that some members of APC in Ikeduru are very loyal to the Deputy Governor, Prof.Placid Njoku, whereas some other members of the party in the area are perched their loyalty to Prince Charlvon.
Note, twosome News Correspondents from the Independent News Media Outfits who spoke to the Deputy Governor, Placid Njoku, narrated that the Deputy Governor expressed satisfaction on his relationship with Prince Charlvon, even as he described their relationship as cordial, added that duo Ikeduru leaders just concluded an indoor meeting aimed at promoting peace and security of Ikeduru LGA and Imo State at large.
However, sources had it that the Independent News Media Correspondents’ efforts tried to communicate to Charlvon so as to get his own version of the impeachment rumor proved worthless as he declined from explanation.
In his voice, very prominent youth from Ikeduru, who spoke as the leader of political pressure group known as “This Is Our Time”, Hon.Comr.Noble Iyke Edoziem, (Ikemba I of Ikeduru) when contacted to get his own chronicle on the impeachment saga of the Deputy Governor, said, “If the rumors on the impeachment of the Deputy Governor recorded that he is not worthy, capable or that he is not representing the people of Ikeduru will, the said moves should be supported”.
“Also, if the impeachment saga on the Deputy Governor is because of the selfishness of his detractors, then he should be up and doing by protecting his office. But if the moves for his sack/removal states that it is because of political structure and apex leadership tussle, they should discard such bids”, Edoziem advised.
In a related development, Our Reporter confirmed that one of the sons of Chief Charlvon, Hon. Comrade. Akarachi Amadi, had in the recent time made his political aspiration to contest for the 2023 Mbaitoli/Ikeduru House Reps. Seat under the platform of APC.
It could be recalled that the member representing Ikeduru State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, IMHA, Hon.Amb.Uche Ogbuagu is also seriously nursing his aspiration to climb as the Federal House Representative Member for MbaIke in 2023.
News Sources also told Our Reporter that Amb. Ogbuagu is one of the core loyalists of the Deputy Governor whose loyalty is not in doubt.
Moreso, it was thereafter disclosed that the sacked OCDA GM, Hon. Innocent Ikpamezie, who is also aspiring to represent MbaIke 2023 is in the political structure of the Deputy Governor.
Recently, our crew of investigative journalists who stormed Ikeduru LGA confirmed through an opinion poll conducted by the voices of the people.
The polls gathered that so many voters (electorates) in Ikeduru LGA have already passed their voices of confidence on the Deputy Governor, whereas only a few persons who spoke supported the impeachment plots of Prof.Njoku but appealed to Prince Charles Amadi to the sleeping dog rest.
