PDP Structure: Tribunal Sack Lar, Bagos , Orders Alfred Bulus Vincent To Be Issued Certificate Of Return

The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos has nullified the election of the Barakin Ladi -Riyom federal Constituency, Langtang North /South, and Jos South /Jos East Federal Constituency in Plateau State.

The tribunal has declared the candidate of the Labour party as the winner having come second in the election saying conduct of the election was nullified because PDP refused to respect the order of a Jos High court.

Meanwhile, the same panel of Tribunal Nullifies Hon. Bagos’s Victory, Declares Ajang Alfred Iliya of the Labour Party as the winner orders INEC to issue a Certificate of Return as all votes cast for the second respondent of the People Democratic Party (PDP) were   wasted votes

The three-man panel led by the second man, Hon. Justice O.A .Adetujoye of the second panel of the National and State Houses of Assembly Plateau State Election Petition Tribunal (EPT) at the High Court Complex, Jos, in the suit number EPT/PL/HR/03/23 between Ajang Alfred Iliya and the Labour Party (LP) Petitioners against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), challenging the victory of Hon . Bagos Dachung Musa and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The trial tribunal was against his declaration as the winner of the election held on February 25, 2023, was on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, nullified the election of Hon. Bagos Dachung Musa where Hon. Ajang Alfred Iliya was declared winner of the said election.

While delivering judgment, Hon. Justice Adetujoye upheld the petitioners’ claims and cited several laws that proved the respondents were in defiance of court orders compelling the party to conduct ward, local government, and state congresses, even though the respondents.

According to the Judge, the 2nd &3rd respondents presented, repeated Congresses that were supervised by the INEC with reports of repeat congresses in which two contradictory copies were tendered in the tribunal.

He explained further that INEC failed to clarify its position as was lackadaisical to clarify limits their stand to  tribunal.

He said that the Court of Appeal decision in the case of Adamu Alkali against Musa Agah Avia, thereby nullifying the election of the 2nd respondent.

The tribunal has clarified the candidacy, nomination, and sponsorship of Ajang Alfred Iliya as validly nominated, and having secured the second highest votes cast, the tribunal declared the 1st petitioner winner while ordering the 1st respondent to issue to the winner a fresh certificate of return.

However, Hon. Vincent Venman Bulus was declared Winner as the victory of Hon.Beni Butmak Lar was  quashed where the trial tribunal, Insisted that  all votes cast for the second respondent were wasted votes

In a suit number EPT/PL/HR/04/23 between Bulus Vincent Venman and the All-Progressives Congress (APC) Petitioners against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Beni Lar and her political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who was declared the winner of the election held on February 25, 2023, was nullified t and Hon. Bulus Vincent Venmak declared winner of the said election.

While delivering judgment, Hon. Justice Bello Mohammed Tukur upheld the petitioners’ claims, citing 1999 law to back proves that the respondents were in defiance of court orders compelling the party to conduct ward, local government, and state congresses, even though the respondents.
