PDP Returnee’s Faction Vows To Fight Jang Before 2015
Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau state and factional Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum will soon face another huddle as some dismissed members of the PDP in the state looks set to wrestle the party from his grip before 2015
Indication to this emerged yesterday in Langtang South LGA of the state, when our correspondent ran into a secret meeting where it was clearly stated that the “umbrella” of the PDP must be reconstructed to reflect the interest of founding members who have been sidelined in the scheme of things in the party in the state.
The conveners said “we will tear down and reconstruct the PDP umbrella on the Plateau until it covers every one” even though they preferred to remain anonymous for now, hinted that already, the party’s hierarchy at the centre is ready to listen to their grouse and support their course in that direction.
But when the consent of the immediate past governor of the state and senator representing Plateau Central under the Labour Party, Chief Joshua Dariye was sort, he declined comment saying he was not aware of any such plot.
Dariye, a beneficiary of the PDP was however sad that governor Jang has hijacked the party they struggle to built and was busy driving the supporters away for no reasons.
The Senator stated this in an interview during a town hall meeting with people in his constituency comprising kanam, Kanke, Pankshin Mangu and Bokkos Local Government areas Of Plateau State over the week end.
During the tour, Dariye disclosed that he has delivered dividends of democracy to his constituency through a donation of N170 million to the Plateau State University, a construction of educational facility at the Federal College of Education Pankshin worth N150 million, sinking of over 10 boreholes in each of the five LGCs in his constituency, procurement of over 5 transformers, construction of modern schools in Gindiri, and Kanam LGCs, award of scholarships to numerous students and facilitation of employment to teeming youths in the constituency with the Federal Government, a pilot youth and women empowering scheme in each Local Government Council in the central Senatorial District, amongst others.
