Payment Of February/March Salary Of Engaged Teachers Would Commence Before Thursday-Education Commissioner

Hon.Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu, Nasarawa State Commissioner of Education has assured the newly engaged teachers in the State to remain resolute and calm over the delay in the payment of February and March Salary.
The Commissioner stated this during an exclusive interview with selected Journalists at his abode in Lafia.
He attributed the delay to bureaucracy within the ministry and appealed to the engaged teachers to remain focused, saying the outgoing administration has better plans for them.
“What is of most important to us now is to ensure that we clear all the engaged teacher’s salary before any other thing”.
He unveiled that governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has given a marching order to Teachers Service Commission to screened and accord permanent appointment to deserving ones.
“The monthly salary of the 2,148 engaged teachers stood at N45, 000,000”.
Tijjani,it could be recalled that during an interview with Journalists at College of Education, Akwanga last year averred that eighty percent of teachers in Nasarawa State are not qualified to teach maintained that the Chief executive approved 150 teachers for in-service last year.
Adding that 200 are to benefit from the olive branches of the State government, he however said teachers constitute fifty percent of the workforce in the State.
While fielding questions on teachers strength in the State, the Commissioner stated that teachers strength in Secondary Schools stood at 6000.
