Drama eschewed between journalists and security personnel drafted to the scheduled judgment of the Supreme Court on Plateau, Bauchi, Kano, Zamfara and others was the security barricade at the main entrance.
The overzealous police personnel drafted to Friday’s Supreme Court judgment turned aggressive and started using live guns on journalists.
The Supreme Court judgment scheduled for seven states to know their faith in governing their state resorted security personnel besieging the road linking the court premises.
Journalists were prevented from assessing the Supreme Court life proceedings to blind the general public from knowing what was happening.
However, millions of media practitioners were stopped and harassed on the way to the judgment venue which brought about a heated argument between the publishers of various media organizations and reporters who couldn’t get close.
The rowdy drama attracted so much tension from both sides as the media were denied complete access to the courtroom.
One Inspector rushed to use teargas to dispatch the journalists even when he was adequately briefed that the tag was distributed by the registrar.
However, efforts to reach the authority concerned to pave the way for the members of the media practitioners to enter proved abortive as the security tide prevented them from coming close.
