Over 500 APC Supporters Join PDP In Nasarawa State

No fewer than 500 card-carrying members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State has decamped to the People’s Democratic Party, the State Chairman of the party, Hon Francis Orogu has disclosed.

Orogu gave the hint during the campaign rally of the party in Akwanga Local Government on Tuesday.

The Chairman urged Mada nation to shun any other forms of vagaries and campaign of division embarked by the APC in the State.

He cautioned people of Nasarawa State are weary of the killer party, saying the APC barely years on the reign of affairs for the second term has dragged the nation backward.

“It is in Nigeria that Many Have Gone with the rising spate of kidnapping, banditry, and starvation under the rulership of the ruling party”.

He further opined that the country will lose and miss her direction if APC is allowed to continue beyond 2023.

“APC has failed woefully and you can attest to this as the party was rejected in the State, despite the intimidation on retirees by collecting their Voters Card Number”.

Describing the unfolding as sacrilegious for carrying out a stiffer condition for pensioners who have put in their best for the State for thirty-five years.

“Abdullahi Sule subjected our retirees to deadly conditions that would foist them to vote for the APC”.

Adding that the act is callous and barbaric for compelling pensioners to filled forms as well providing their Vin number.

He however accused the ruling party in the State of dragging monarchs into murky waters of politics, describing the traditional rulers as the custodian of our traditions and customs but not politicians.

 “We in the PDP rejected this in totality because this an antics to disrupt and bring our respected monarchs to politics, saying the political participation of the traditional rulers will not augur well for the State.

Recalling the effort the then PDP-controlled House of Assembly under the former Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura resisted the plan to distort the stool of Chun Mada which was vacant for over thirty years.

According to him, “Governor Al-Makura presented the issue before the Assembly and we rejected it because we discovered that out of the college of sellectors , the majority of them are death without replacement

He said the PDP-controlled Assembly make it possible for the selection of Chun Mada.

Orogu commended the current member federal House of Representatives, Hon Usman Abdulkarim, representing Akwanga/Wamba/Nasarawa Eggon constituency for remaining in the party.

The Nasarawa north senatorial district candidate for this year’s election Nathaniel Aboki in his speech said Akwanga reminds the home of PDP.

Saying he was disappointed with the ongoing in the country under the ruling All Progressives Congress administration, adding that PDP is the only solution to the woes the nation is passing through.

Amfani Dog, the spokesperson on behalf of the defectors says they decamped to the PDP so as to find solace in their daily endeavor, rising spate of kidnapping and agony.

Labaran Maku, the former minister of Information and the Director General of Atiku Abubakar and Emmanuel Ombugadu campaign council explained that the motive behind bringing monarchs into the political space of Nasarawa State will not work.

“What are they benefiting from apart from the Tokunbu jeeps he bought for them, do you know that the majority of those vehicles are off-road?”.

He, however, insisted that Government officials in Nasarawa State are busy collecting Voter Identification Numbers in villages instead of campaigning for votes.

“The worst aspect of their campaign was resorting to issues of religion, as I’m talking to you now they are in Akwanga confusing people not to vote for Ombugadu as a Christian, some council of Imams is going around to convince people that the Governor will build houses to Muslims to support his re-election bid.
