Aftermath of the last election results that allegedly brought the APC Senatorial candidate for Orlu Zone, Gov.Rochas Okorocha as the winner of the Orlu zone Senate seat by the Returning Officer, Prof. Innocent Izuchukwu Ibeawuchi.
Some women from the Orlu zone numbering over 59 persons,was on Wednesday,Feb.27th 2019,took protest to the office of INEC along Owerri/Portharcourt Road,demanded that the commission should never ever try to accept the said “duress result”,according to the RO.
The women who wore black attires were seen armed with various placards inscriptions, chatting all forms of war songs.
They requested that INEC should not venture to accepting the results that allegedly described as fake that brought Rochas Okorocha as the winner, even as the reminded INEC that the INEC RO, Prof.Ibeawuchi, did the right thing by pronouncing the outcome of the whole electoral exercise, which they also fingered of being marred with multiple electoral scam and irregularities, discourtesy of the Imo State Governor, who according them wanted to become a, Senator by all means.
The women therefore strictly warned the authority of INEC in Imo State not to encourage illegal and a result that has remain unacceptable by the entire people of Orlu.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Hon. Mrs. Ifeoma Onukaogu, insisted that the people of the zone can never accept that election result, even as described expressively accused Rochas and his APC group of electoral scam against the divine wishes of the people of Orlu Zone.
She therefore called for total cancellation of the supposed polls in the area.
Receiving the women, an INEC staff (a female worker) whose name was not in print said “your reports are obvious, just go home, remain calm, you know that we all know what transpired in Orlu Senatorial polls. We are on top of the whole matter. Always maintain peace but rest assured that justice must be upheld.
