Organizers Shift Imo State Sustainable Development Ambassadors’ Forum To June 22

Proponents of the Imo State Sustainable Development Ambassadors’  Forum “ISSDAF” a pre-event of “The National Dialogue Project” (TNDP) have announced a shift in date of it’s programme initially slated on Thursday, 16th May in commemoration of the United Nations (UN) International Day of Living Together in Peace.        

This was contained in a press statement issued on Thursday in Abuja and signed by the Chief Convener/Director, Administration and Communications, Amb.Benedict Nneji Opara, which indicates that the shift in date became necessary to allow for proper planning and consultation with the Imo State government, key affected institutions and senior citizens as well as, sensitization and mobilize for active support and participation of stakeholders in all aspects of the forum.   

The ISSDAF, which will hold on the theme:”Toward Ensuring A Peaceful and Prosperous Society”, according to Amb. Benedict is a pre-event of the National Dialogue on: Ethics & Values, Peace Building, Security and Good Governance NDEVSPBGG Project, and is a coalition of civil society, public and private sectors strategic advocacy driven initiative for improved policy, leadership integrity and good governance and principally targets at:-

1. Addressing very critical and unassailable issues bothering on leadership and governance, religious, ethnic and divisive tendencies, socio-economic and political differences in the states and nation.

 2. Create a stronger foundation for national unity and integration.

3. Promote sound moral values, social sanity and leadership integrity.

4. Restore the cultural values and good ethics of the Nigerian society.

5. Encourage respect for the rule of the law and 6. Provide a distinctive mechanism for a National Sustainable Development Agenda (NSDA), among others.    

The two days Forum is now being scheduled to hold at the Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri from Thursday, 23rd to Friday, 24th June 2022, in commemoration of the United Nations (UN)  International Public Service Day and His Excellency, Chief Dr. Hope Uzodinma, the Executive Governor of Imo State will be the Chief Host to officially declare the Forum open and also, Unveil and Launch 

“The National Dialogue Project” alongside other  senior citizens of both national and international reputes, to grace and support this epoch event.

The organizers further revealed that the Forum will feature key note and paper presentations by seasoned and eminent resource persons from the civil society, academic and the professions  with  conferment of the Grand Global and Global Sustainable Development Ambassadors’ GG&GSDA’s  Awards of the National Dialogue Project on esteemed individuals and institutions whose resourcefulness and outstanding contributions to  peace, unity and sustainable development of the state and successful hosting of the Forum. 

The statement further revealed that the project is already enjoying partnership and support from the Imo State Leaderships of the; Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) and National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), among others on the pipeline.

It then called on the Imo State government and other key stakeholders to proudly identify, support and participation in this epoch event to fruition.
