As political aspirants for elective positions besieges the Imo APC State Party Secretariat to formally make public their political intentions in the forthcoming general elections, the State Party Chairman, Hon.Dr.MacDonald Ebere, has sounded the warning that “No Aspirant” has been endorsed by the party under his watch neither by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
He stated it clearer that Imo APC primaries for the different levels of elective positions remain the only means (tantum-modo) to emerge as endorsed candidates of the party for the elections in 2023.
He described all flying news on the endorsement of APC aspirants by the leadership of the party in Imo as fallacious, empty, sequestrated of any iota of truth the information reverberating from all corners of the state that the party and the state governor have endorsed some prospective candidates for elective positions in the State.
Dr.MacDonald maintained that the rebranded Imo APC will respect the order and follow the due and age long process of supporting a candidate and that is after primaries.
Ebere while speaking advised party faithfuls and indeed the general public to ignore any form of name dropping as they’re false in whatever shade or color they come.
He added that any prospective aspirant who wants to run for any elective position on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, is free to declare, campaign and participate in the party’s organized primaries.
MacDonald however added that another way the party will endorse the emergence of any candidate is if the aspirant becomes the consensus candidate of the people he’ll be representing, and even at that, the party will follow and adopt every constitutional process that supports the adoption of a consensus candidate.
The Press Statement was made available by Comr. Chijioke Julian, the SA on New And Electronic Media to Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD (State Party Chairman, Imo APC), on 08/04/2022.
