Irked over the instability in power supply in Nasarawa South Senatorial zone, The Senator representing the zone, Senator. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo has pledged to distribute a transformer and 2000 units of Pre-Paid meters to constituents.
Onawo gave a hint during an exclusive interview with Universal Reporters at the National Assembly recently to mark his one year in office.
The Senator buttressed that the distribution of transformers to the five Local Governments of the zone, comprised of Awe, Doma, Lafia, Keana, and Obi would to a greater measure stabilize the power supply.
He said the stability in power supply would also enhance socio-economic activities in benefiting Local Governments, especially welders, barbing salon owners, water vendors, and others.
He urged the people of the yet-to-benefit communities to be watchful of such costly electrical transformers and other installations.
He recalled the bad experience in Doma Local Government where over three transformers and armored cables were vandalized by criminals.
He also explained that 2000 units of Pre-Paid meters would be distributed to constituents, as he hinted that the distribution of pre-paid meters would end the trepidation of blunt light bills occasioned by estimated billing.
According to him the distribution of the pre-paid meters would be in phases.
