The Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Suleiman Umar Dikko said the N24m one year accumulated check-up due to striking staff of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria are in safe hands.

Dikko stated this while reacting over the three days picketing embarked by the Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress in Nasarawa State to press home their demands.

The Chief Judge disclosed this to Journalists during the marathon meeting by the Nasarawa State Judicial Service Commission headed by the Chief Judge as the Chairman of the JSC.

He said the bases of the meeting of JSC was meant to discuss issues bordering the one-year lingering check-up dues yet to be remitted to the Union.

Justice Suleiman Umar Dikko affirmed that the decision taken by JSC was for the best interest of peace and harmony between the courts and its workforce.

“All their dues are intact and I don’t think we have hiccups of remitting their money to them”.

He identified the whole obstacle to JUSUN because we have resolved that High court would not be a party to the monthly deduction of staff salary and longer rather their members who are willing to remit their dues should hand over their dues to the executive of the Union, The Chief Judge insisted.

“Must the Union go to the extend that I should go on compulsory leave, if they are patient enough I will leave by December 2020 which is just four months remaining for me.

The Chief Judge declined to comment on the issue of pending promotions of staff which was not captured during the picketing by the NLC and TUC.
