Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state, has approved the appointment of Dr. Sumayya Babangida Sabo, as the Programme Coordinator of the Adamawa Digital Academy, a key initiative under the state’s digital transformation agenda.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by Humwashi Wonosikou, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
According to the statement, Sabo is a seasoned Information Systems professional, education administrator, and programme manager with extensive experience in digital skills development, academic administration, innovation programmes, and information technology management.
Sabo currently serves as a Tutor and Information Technology Coordinator at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola, where she has contributed significantly to academic and technology-driven programmes.
In her new role, she will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the Academy’s activities, including student onboarding, stakeholder engagement, academic administration, and the implementation of strategic partnerships.
Her mandate also includes positioning the Adamawa Digital Academy as a leading institution for digital skills training in Nigeria and across Africa.
The Adamawa Digital Academy is a flagship project under the Adamawa 2.0 Digital Transformation Agenda.
The initiative is designed to equip more than 100,000 youths and civil servants with digital and emerging technology skills, enhancing innovation, employability, and economic growth in the state.
Governor Fintiri congratulated Sabo on her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to drive the Academy’s vision.
