Benue State will host Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, as part of her Renewed Hope Initiative tour.
The First Lady and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative will meet women and programme beneficiaries in Makurdi to strengthen grassroots engagement. Governor Hyacinth Alia said the visit reflects ongoing federal-state collaboration to support women, families, and vulnerable groups.
Major event is the commissioning of 10 completed intra-city roads in Makurdi, totalling 11.5km. They are part of more than 45 roads delivered by the Alia administration. The roads are:
State officials say the projects target urban renewal, better mobility, and economic activity in Makurdi.
After the Makurdi ceremony, Senator Tinubu will move to Ihugh to commission and hand over a Community ICT Centre.
Mrs. Scholastica Bensor, Benue Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady and Renewed Hope Initiative, said preparations are complete. She urged women, community leaders, and residents to turn out and receive the First Lady.
The visit is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
