Obasanjo IMF Loan Pushes Nigeria Into Poverty, Insecurity, Recession  – Barr Garba Pwol ,SAN,

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Plateau state Chapter a Senior  Advocate of Nigeria handling the Plateau South Senatorial Bye-Election Tribunal, Chief Garba Pwol , SAN,  has said, the former President Olusegun  Obasanjo IMF loans of 1976 were what pushed Nigeria into the present poverty, insecurities and recession currently being experienced.

 

He explained that the loan took from the IMF was responsible for Nigeria’s poverty and insecurity which drop the value of naira as one of the world’s richest oil-producing nations.

 

 

Pwol said when the military leader took that loan the exchange rate of Nigeria during the former President Olusegun Obasanjo became a serious problem that the country couldn’t upset immediately and it also crippled the wealth of this country by creating poverty and insecurity that we are now facing so many economic challenges that nothing work in Nigeria.

 

 

Garba condemned the rate of kidnapping in the country by bandits in Northwest Nigeria by attributing the problem to poverty that ravages and cause by Olusegun Obasanjo IMF loans which hatch insecurity.

 

 

Speaking to some session of Journalists in his office, Pwol, says security is everybody’s business so he employed the use of vigilante, community surveillance in addressing it.

 

 

He called on security chiefs to rise up to their responsibility of safeguarding the territorial boundaries of Nigeria by calling on the Plateau state government to also live up to her responsibility of fighting insecurity ahead of the 2023 general poll.

 

 

According to him, Even without the subvention coming into the state,Pwol told journalists that he plans to do something different if given the mandate, saying he has a brilliant blueprint for the people of Plateau state through the internal income generation.

 

He explained, the rich diverse culture tourist attraction would harness as a means of survival looking at Israel’s technological transformation, we can rival them, we are gifted with a conducive climate here in Plateau state except for the Mambila Plateau weather that is more than our own.

 

Pwol said that if given the mandate, Plateau state would be the commercial hub of the North, Southeast, and Southwest because the investment opportunities would open for investors to come in.

 

He maintained that with mineral deposits,agriculture which is found everywhere we need so we need the right relationship with the appropriate
