NUJ National Leadership Calls On President Buhari, Gov Al-Makura To Tighten Security In Nasarawa State

Irked over the abduction of the wife of the Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Yahanasu Suleiman Abubakar by evil merchants along Gudi-Garaku,the National Leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to tighten security in Nasarawa State.

The National Vice President Zone,Chief Wilson Bako J.P who spoke on behalf of the National President, Chris Isiguzo expressed displeasure over the kidnapping which happened in Gudi , Akwanga Local Government of the State.

Saying addressing security challenges should be the utmost priority of the change mantra should look inward to tackle insecurity which he said pervert the State.

Chief Wilson Bako further appealed to the State governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to also strengthen the rising spate of insecurity ranging from kidnapping, robbery and amongst other criminality.

The National Vice President described the moment as a dark moment appealing to the kidnappers to release the woman unconditionally.

“Her condition was so pathetic” calling on the State Commissioner of police to take a stringent measure to curb insecurity in the State.

The State Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Dogo Shamah congratulate the staff of Nigerian Newsday into the mainstream civil service.

He further sue on Journalists to abide by the code and ethics of the profession by being fair and objective in their reportage.

A contributor, Valentine Joshua of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, Lafia worried over the unfolding called on the in-coming Nasarawa State House of Assembly to pass a legislation that would forbid kidnapping.

He said the in-coming Assembly should as matter of urgency proposed death penalty to serve as a deterrent to others.
