NTA-TV College Students Protest Against Rector Decision On Nursing Mothers By Yakubu Busari, Jos‬

The Students of NTA-TV College Jos, has yesterday protested against the college Rector’s decision that suspended some female students who are Nursing Mothers.

Our correspondent who was at the college premises, and had witnessed the protest,  reports that some of the students were saying “no to suspension of students who are nursing mothers.”

The student that protested were carrying placards with inscriptions; “Babies are blessings.” And that: “The Women will not go.”

The College Rector Ms. Halima Bewell, has suspended some female students who are nursing their babies, and have been taking them to attend classes.

our correspondent gathered that the protesting students rising some photocopied papers with pictures and names of the students who were suspended for two weeks, and are expected to commenced their exams by next week Monday.

However, the College Rector Ms. Bewell said while addressing the students, that what the college did was in the best interest of all the 300 level students, who had earlier on complaints of having distracted lectures, when babies are carried into the class.

She told the students that what they did was wrong, adding that it is wrong for nursing mothers to bring their babies to school.

Bewell further said that the students should write their complaints to her, saying they will put the complaint into consideration.

She advised the degree students to stop the protests and concentrate on their studies, adding that she wants them to be good journalists and producers
