NSDC Lost 2 Officers In Five Years Serving Says OPSH, Former Component Commander CSO Musa

No fewer than two officers under the Special Task Force (STF) died, component commander of Operation Safe Heaven (OPSH) in charge of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense corps (NSDC) CSO Panam Musa disclosed on handing over notes.

He said only two of their  men  were reported killed during their active duty in  five years’ service as  joint security task force  in Plateau/Bauchi states.

The outgoing component Commander, CSO   Panam Musa disclosed this in his  official handing over notes to the new commander ,CSO , Kamsem Ayuba at the OPSH headquarters on Friday .

He said the two officers were killed in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau and Tafawa Balewa LGA of Bauchi state.

Musa who was the first component commander since the introduction of joint special task force was brought on board five years, revealed that NSDC started with 100 trained men and officers joining other sisters security agencies for the restoration of Peace under the command.

He further stressed that the number of these officers has now been increased to 150 who are currently serving with military, Para-military and recorded low dead rates.

According to him, among the security personnel that recorded high number of casualties were the Nigerian police force.

He appealed to federal government to settle the death benefits of those gallant men who died while in active duty serving this great country.

Musa prayed and solicited the cooperation of men and officers of OPSH to offer their support to the new commander to enable him contribute effectively to the return of peace in Plateau and Nigeria.

He maintained that; “all us are doing same service to God so we should continue to sustain members for peace reign in civil defense.

About 110 raffles were officially handed over to the new commander where he advised him to consider the family of officers serving under this command, he explained.

Musa pleaded that the component commander should ensure that their pain, cry and complain should not neglected or rejected because any call from them by attending to them with maturity will go a long way.

” You have to settle down and listen to their plights, make show you calm them when they have genuine problem, encourage by motivate them’’.

The highlight of the occasion was the official decoration with the new OPSH command order.

The new component commander Kamsem Ayuba sued for the cooperation of command.

‘I am so delighted to take over here to be transparent,  I shall committed to build synergy with other sisters security agencies in the state”.
